Andritz to Refurbish Dewatering Equipment for TMP Washing at Hallsta Mill

Andritz, Austria, will refurbish two used Andritz twin wire presses and relocate an existing Andritz pulp screw press. After re-installation as the TMP washing stage, the dewatering equipment will improve the pulp quality, thus ensuring higher product quality on the paper machine. PM 12 manufactures book paper and newsprint grades.
The project scope of supply includes:
- Refurbishment of two used Andritz twin wire presses.
- Relocation and overhaul of an existing Andritz pulp screw press used in the former deinking plant at Hallsta paper mill.
- Installation of a new conveyor for pulp dilution and shredding after washing.
- Rebuild and relocation of two existing screw conveyors.
Andritz’s broad know-how on refurbishment of dewatering equipment as well as its longstanding and excellent relationship with Holmen Paper were decisive for the order award. The Hallsta Paper Mill has relied on Andritz dewatering technology for many years. After completion of this project, the mill will be operating 14 Andritz twin wire presses.
