U.S. Packaging Papers Shipments Rise

Total U.S. packaging papers shipments in June 2018 were up 4.4% compared with June 2017 and up 0.6% year-to-date, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) June 2018 U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly Report. Bag and sack shipments were essentially flat year-to-date, multiwall shipments were down 1.3%, converting shipments were up 0.7%, and food wrapping shipments were up 3.6%.
The operating rate for June increased to 95.8% from 94.5% in May. Inventories were down 0.3% since May.
