Now completed and fully reviewed project focused on what became successful development of new technology for biodiesel production. The scope of this project encompassed synthesis and characterization of nanocatalyst, a catalytic process design, and a fuel property test. The researchers have shown in preliminary results that La-containing nanoparticles can indeed offer a much higher surface area, basicity, and acidity than any proposed alternative as effective/ efficient so far theorized much less now in preparation for a potentially fully expanded commercial level development that may not be far (especially for nano-particular scientific process in a commercial lab instead of a university onn) from becoming an actual realization.

The proposed nano-structured material that you can learn about from watching the above linked video is a very promising approach to cost-effectively produce high quality biodiesel. Organically sourced Diesel fuel alongside bioethanol as a replacement for petroleum are both needed to power farming equipment, energy stations, train engines, and of course all types of passenger vehicles. This new class of nanostructured materials described on this nearly overlooked study (only 14 views were recorded when OTW discovered the web-archival!) should have significant impacts on biomass catalyst technology to overcome the conversion efficiency barrier of biomass to biofuel.
