Due to continued high pulp prices and increasing energy and transportation costs, the longer term economic viability of Sappi's paper assets remains at risk according to a release this month about the now-pending increase.
Sappi (Johannesburg, South Africa) is therefore forced to pass on this cost inflation by increasing its CWF and UWF prices in sheets and reels by 6-8% effective on deliveries from Jan. 1 2019 for all European and Overseas markets. This follows previous announcements made for its LWC and MWC grades.
