For the second time in a row, Stora Enso (Finland) has been top-ranked in both management quality and carbon performance by the Transition Pathway Initiative.
The Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) assesses how the largest paper producers globally are progressing in the transition to a low-carbon economy. For the second time in a row, Stora Enso was top-ranked in both management quality and carbon performance.
In the report, management quality refers to the quality of companies’ governance/management of their greenhouse gas emissions, and of risks and opportunities related to the low-carbon transition. Carbon performance refers to how the companies’ emissions pathway compares with the international targets and national pledges made as part of the UN Paris Agreement on climate change.
Stora Enso is the only company that both ranks on the highest possible level in management quality and has an emissions reduction target set until 2030, aligned with keeping the global temperature rise below 2°C.
