TAPPI Selects Outstanding Young Professionals for 2019

Emerging leaders represent WestRock, Packaging Corporation of America, FP Innovations, Domtar, Procter & Gamble, and Sonoco
TAPPI is pleased to announce six recipients of this year’s Young Professionals of the Year awards. The annual contest identifies aspiring young leaders in the global forest products, pulp, paper, tissue, packaging, and associated industries. Eligible nominees are age 35 or younger with less than 10 years of industry experience.
The winners of this year’s TAPPI Young Professionals of the Year awards are:
- Taylor Bryant, Operations & Maintenance Coordinator Power & Recovery, WestRock
- David Mead, Process Engineer, Packaging Corporation of America
- Victor E. Padilla, Scientist, FPInnovations
- Rachael Simmons, Product Supply Engineer, Procter & Gamble
- John A. Sly, Production Superintendent, Sonoco
- Michael J. Subilia, II, Process Engineer, Domtar
The award recognizes Young Professionals who have made significant contributions to the forest products industries in the areas of leadership, community service, TAPPI volunteering and supporting the industry, or problem-solving contributions.
Winners are recognized in TAPPI’s various publications and online. In addition, they are invited to attend their division-specific TAPPI conference during 2019 to receive their award and are also granted one full year of TAPPI membership.
