Six Outstanding Young Professionals Selected for 2019

TAPPI is pleased to announce six recipients of the 2019 Young Professionals of the Year awards. The annual award identifies aspiring young leaders in the global forest products, pulp, paper, tissue, packaging and associated industries. Eligible nominees are age 35 or younger with less than 10 years of industry experience.

The winners of the 2019 TAPPI Young Professionals of the Year awards are:

 

·Taylor Bryant, Operations & Maintenance Coordinator Power & Recovery, WestRock

·David Mead, Process Engineer, Packaging Corporation of America

·Victor E. Padilla, Scientist, FPInnovations

·Rachael Simmons, Product Supply Engineer, Procter & Gamble

·John A. Sly, Production Superintendent, Sonoco

·Michael J. Subilia, II, Process Engineer, Domtar

 

The award recognizes Young Professionals who have made significant contributions to the forest products industries in the following areas: Leadership, Community Service, and Problem Solving Contributions to Scientific or Engineering Projects.

 

Winners are recognized in TAPPI’s various publications and online. In addition, they are granted one full year of TAPPI membership and are invited to attend their division-specific TAPPI conference during 2019 to receive their award.

 

Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2020 Young Professional of the Year award.

To nominate your peer or colleague, simply email us at awards@tappi.org with ‘Young Professional of the Year Nomination’ in the subject line. Your message needs to contain your name and the name of the person you wish to nominate; we’ll take care of the rest! To nominate yourself, please complete and submit the nomination form.
