TAPPI’s Papermaking Technology and Operations Committee (PTOC ) is holding a new free webinar on November 19 at 1:00 p.m. EST called Best Practices for Building Ventilation Improvements and Efficiency. Attendees will learn industry best practices for building ventilation.
A significant amount of water vapor is generated by the forming section at the Wet End of all paper machines. This vapor must be effectively captured by the building's heating and ventilation system in order to prevent condensation phenomena inside the building and ensure proper working conditions.
As water vapor pressure increases exponentially with increasing water temperature, the amount of water vapor present at the Wet End of linerboard machines tends to be greater, thus increasing the requirements of the building ventilation system.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
- The importance of having properly designed and operated building ventilation equipment
- Building Ventilation 101: best practices, design and engineering considerations to reduce condensation, ways to reduce uncontrolled air flow and provide a safe and comfortable working environment for mill staff.
- Case studies for greenfield and rebuild projects
The webinar will be led by Lawrence Yane, P. Eng, M. Sc. Based in Montreal, Quebec, Lawrence Yane is Sales Manager for Enerquin Air. He has earned his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (1994) and Master of Science (1997) degrees from McGill University in Montreal and has spent his entire professional career in Technical Sales and Product Development. He works closely with clients on paper and tissue air systems issues, focusing on drying efficiency and optimization which are key factors for maximum production and profitability. Lawrence is also an active member of TAPPI’s Yankee Dryer Safety and Reliability Committee.
Attendance is free, but registration is required. Reserve your space today.
