The Alliance for Pulp & Paper Technology Innovation (APPTI) is releasing a Request for Proposal in support of the APPTI Packaging Testing team which is focused on the development of more accurate physical test methods and models to enable reduction in manufacturing costs, limit customer product loss, and facilitate the development of higher performing containerboard and converted packaging.
APPTI ultimately envisions supporting work that addresses certain research gaps including factors that impact field performance of packaging, development of more accurate and precise physical tests, a greater understanding of the impact of environmental factors on box performance, and more comprehensive predictive models. The specific topics of interest can be found in the attached RFP.
APPTI expects to provide minimum funding of $200,000 over two years which could be for one large project or several smaller ones. All proposals in response to this RFP are due no later than 8:00 am EST, January 13, 2020. The selection decision for the winning proposal is expected to be made no later than January 31, 2020.
