In Memoriam: TAPPI Fellow John L. Clement

We honor John Lloyd Clement (also known as Jack) and send our sympathy and condolences to his family, colleagues and friends. John passed away on August 17, 2019 at the age of 84 in Pompton Plains, NJ after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Before his long and successful career, John earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida and a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron. He accomplished a 40-year career with The Babcock & Wilcox Company. Upon retiring in 1996, he founded Clement Consulting, Inc. and dedicated 13 years to providing engineering and marketing services to the pulp and paper industry. John holds several boiler and process patents and published and presented twenty-two related technical papers in North America and internationally. Due to his expertise, John was involved in many industry associations; he had been a TAPPI member since 1965. John was also proud to receive the honorary title of TAPPI Fellow in 2006, for "extraordinary technical contributions to the industry".
In his free time, John enjoyed traveling with his wife Anne, reading about history and mysteries, and studying his family's genealogy. He was full of curiosity and always seeking to further his knowledge on topics of interest. John L. Clement will be missed by his industry, family and friends.
