Meet the Expert: David Loebker is senior scientist at P&G, author, speaker and member of TAPPI’s Tissue Properties Testing Subcommittee, which is part of the Process & Product Quality Division.
In today’s worldwide paper industry, there is a lot of activity related to tissue. A recent market research study shows that between 2018 and 2024, annual growth in the tissue and hygiene areas is expected to reach 3.8 percent in North America, and even higher in less developed countries. Due to increased trade and new product development, there has been an increased attention to standardization and harmonizing methods for testing tissue products.
Luckily, TAPPI gives you access to a committee specifically devoted to this task. The Tissue Properties Testing Subcommittee, which is part of the Process & Product Quality Division, generates new work items as potential standards, reviews existing standards, periodically updates methods, and submits standards to ANSI to be considered National Standards. The committee ensures data objectivity, fair trade, and good decision-making.
Ask and learn more about TAPPI test methods including absorptivity, wet tensile strength, thickness and more. To learn more about what Standards are available, see the Standards Subject Index.
To attend, all you need to do is Login at 10:00am (or any time before it ends at noon) on Friday, December 4.
During this live event, you can post your questions* on the Open Forum feed. David will respond as quickly as possible. If he does not have an opportunity to respond to your question within the time-frame, we will follow-up with you in the next week.
Send in your questions in advance!
If you already have questions, email them to Kristin Whitman before November 18, and David will have answers already prepared.
*Please note: Your questions must be related to the topic of Tissue and Toweling Test Methods
