The Ukranian pulp and paper sector may show good growth rates in 2021, which, however, will primarily depend on the further situation with pandemic in the country and situation in the Ukranian economics, according to recent statements, made by some leading Ukranian analysts in the field of paper business and some local media reports.
The possible stabilization of situation with the pandemic in Ukraine in the first half of next year may contribute to the further expansion of production facilities by many of the country’s leading pulp and paper producers. Most of them were seriously hit by strict quarantine measures, which were introduced by the Ukranian government this year, hoping for at least partial recovery of the market in 2021.
Among these companies are the Kiev Cardboard and Paper Mill, the Korostyshevskaya Paper Mill as well as the Zmiev paper mill from the Kharkiv region.
In the case of the Kiev Mill, currently the enterprise remains one of the largest producers of cardboard and paper products in Europe.
In general, in recent years, the development of pulp and paper sector has become one of the priorities for the Ukranian government, while implementation of these plans is personally controlled by Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky.
