We honor Charles Theodore (Ted) Gammon, TAPPI member of 49 years. He passed away on December 19th, 2020. We extend our sympathy and condolences to his family, colleagues and friends.
Chemistry was Ted’s true passion. This showed in his career and achievements. Ted graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1964 with a degree in Chemistry. He began his career at Drew Chemical in New Jersey.
Ted was a talented and innovative chemist, specializing in the development of defoamers for use in the pulp and paper industry. He contributed articles to trade journals and encyclopedias and was also awarded five different US patents for products he developed. After his retirement, he formed his own company, GAMTECH, and developed new products in his lab.
Charles Theodore (Ted) Gammon’s talent in chemistry and innovation made a profound impact on the industry. He will surely be missed but remembered for his legacy.
