Voting for the 2021 TAPPI Board of Directors Ends at noon on Sunday, Jan 31
TAPPI Members in good standing can vote anytime between now and 12:00pm (noon, EST) on January 31, 2021.
How do you vote? First, refer to an email you received from TAPPI’s election provider, Election Services Corporation, on January 5, 2021 the subject line "Please vote in TAPPI's Annual Board Election". It will have your Election Validation Number.
Then to cast your ballot, simply go to the Election Center, enter your Election Validation number, your TAPPI Member number and log in. Once you’re logged in, you can either vote for the entire Nominating Committee Slate, or vote for or against individual candidates.

The Board of Directors determines the policies and has general charge of the affairs of the Association. The Board consists of the Chair, Vice Chair, and nine Directors, as provided for under Article VII of the TAPPI Bylaws. The Bylaws provide for the appointment of a nominating committee to nominate two Officers and three incoming Directors to serve three-year terms.
For 2021, the committee nominated two officers and three directors.
The following two were nominated to serve as officers:
As Chair; James R. Haeffele, Vice President Technology, Material Breakthrough, Essity. As Vice Chair; Donald Haag, Retired-PCA. Since no other nominations were received for these two offices, James R. Haeffele and Donald Haag are elected by acclamation for Chair and Vice Chair, respectively.
The following three were nominated to serve as directors and are up for election:
- Karyn Biasca, Department Chair, University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
- Suzanne Blanchet, Corporate director and former president of Cascades Tissue Group and President, S.L.B. Inc.
- David Buchanan, President, Voith Paper North America
The following directors will continue to serve on the TAPPI Board of Directions in 2021:

- Larry Montague, President and CEO, TAPPI
