Impact the Future of Pulp & Paper in a Changing World

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The pulp and paper industry is facing a serious problem. Its workforce is aging and critical knowledge will soon be lost if mills and organizations do not develop a plan for the transfer of knowledge to a new generation of workers. Seasoned professionals can have a huge impact on the industry’s future by sharing their expertise and experience as a speaker at TAPPI’s Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference.

PEERS, November 7-10, 2021 in Atlanta, GA, is an ideal platform for pulp and paper professionals to share new technologies, advancements, process improvements, or research projects with the industry. Its comprehensive technical program focuses on new methods and best practices to help mills optimize operations and reach their sustainability goals. The Conference provides professionals the opportunity to learn from industry experts in a presentation setting, as well as engage in peer-to-peer discussions during panel sessions, committee meetings and roundtables. PEERS also offers multiple networking events and includes an exhibit floor where attendees can speak face-to-face with suppliers about the latest technologies and solutions.

Present at PEERS

Industry professionals are invited to share their latest successes with their peers from around the world and should submit an abstract by March 15, 2021. All submissions are peer-reviewed for acceptance. Abstracts should be submitted to TAPPI’s Speaker Management System. To learn more about suggested presentation topics, view the Invitation to Present.

PEERS 2021 is co-located with the International Bioenergy & Bioproducts Conference (IBBC). IBBC is also accepting abstracts for their technical program. Learn more.

Students are encouraged to participate in the Student Poster Session and Competition. Refereed by experts, this is a great opportunity to gain exposure and industry input on bioenergy and bioproducts research projects.  Other topics of interest include process improvements in consumption of energy, water and raw materials or the creation of new sustainable products. Abstracts should be submitted by March 15, 2021.

The Deadline to submit abstracts for PEERS, IBBC and the Student Poster Session is March 15, 2021.
