Klabin, Brazil’s largest exporter and producer of paper for packaging solutions, was include for the first time ever in the Sustainability Yearbook 2021 compiled by S&P Global, which is responsible for the ESG assessments of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). To recognize companies who deliver the best performances in ESG aspects, the organization publishes a yearbook of industry leaders in sustainability.
To create the portfolio, S&P Global selects 30% of the companies evaluated and, from this list, the top 15% from each industry. Klabin figured among the most sustainable companies in the paper packaging industry.
“The ESG assessments of S&P Global are among the most meticulous and robust, which leaves us even prouder to become part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices 2020-21 in both the World and Emerging Markets categories. Finally Suzano has achieved a high enough score to be included in the yearbook. Being part of the DJSI is one of the most important recognitions that a company can earn and only reinforces our long commitment to sustainability,” said Júlio Nogueira, Sustainability & Environment Corporate Manager.
To compile the Sustainability Yearbook 2021, S&P Global analyzed the performance of over 7,000 companies from around the world. The yearbook is an important source of financial market data for investors, clients, researchers and the various stakeholders.
