Kadant Black Clawson LLC is an established leader in OEM equipment and systems for the international pulp and paper process industries. The company is seeking a suitable Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for the Northeastern United States. The RSM will work remotely and travel frequently to customer sites.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Meet or exceed a forecasted sales quota.
- Generate and present quotes for sales and services opportunities.
- Visit customers or prospective customers in the field on a frequency of at least 3 visits per week on a priority basis.
- Utilize technical skills to assist customers in the solution of operating problems or during new equipment start-up.
- Utilize process and equipment knowledge to recommend to customers the optimal KBC based solution to their operating needs comprised of productivity, fiber optimization, energy optimization, maintenance budget optimization, and capital budget optimization.
- Develop and demonstrate to customers the superior value proposition of KBC recommended solutions.
- Assist in the negotiations for new contracts with customers.
- Collect and transfer information for new equipment and process proposals to the Applications Department.
- Plan a call schedule and submit timely, up-to-date itineraries; submit comprehensive and timely customer call reports for every call made.
Experience/ Credentials needed:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or in Pulp & Paper Science from an accredited college or university.
- A strong technical background and/or experience in the pulp and paper industry or allied fields with a minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in the pulp and paper industry.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and public relations skills; high self-motivation and a courteous, professional attitude and appearance.
- Must have personality traits to interface with customers professionally and to function appropriately with customers under adverse conditions.
- Must be able to endure prolonged and frequent travel (approx. 80%).
