The Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics is once again being offered on the campus of North Carolina State University, October 4-8, 2021. Join us in-person to gain a solid overview of how Pulping, Bleaching, Chemical Recovery, Recycling, Papermaking and Converting work.
This intro-level workshop is designed to help operators, technicians, sales and service staff better understand the basics of how the processes work, give them a wider scope of knowledge, and help them do their jobs more effectively.
It doesn't matter if you're technical or non-technical, this course can help you better understand the basics so you can understand how the entire process works and immediately apply this new knowledge in your work.
The course will consist of presentations each morning and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon. You'll learn the structure and chemistry of wood, chemical pulping and bleaching operations and processes, papermaking, paper grades and properties, paper recycling, and the importance of chemical recovery, waste treatment and environmental processes.
This workshop is co-sponsored by TAPPI and NC State University
