They are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance and Reliability Manager to join the company. Their experienced and talented mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, reliability, and stores teams report up to this position. The Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor Maintenance and Reliability Manager will work under the direction of the Operations Manager. This is a full-time salaried position. ND Paper is a leading paper product manufacturer in the US with approx. $1 billion annual sales. They are also an environmentally friendly company that manufactures various types of high-quality pulp, paper and paper-based packaging materials.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
- Be an active member of the Biron Lead Team with shared responsibility for the development and deployment of the division’s tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Apply the concepts of precision maintenance to ensure the equipment is designed, repaired, balanced, lubricated, and aligned prior to being placed in service.
- Improve the effectiveness of the mill downtime planning and execution process.
- Active participation in the monthly union/management meetings.
- Lead safety through caring for team members – 360 Mindset, Clean Production, SSOP’s
- Complete all safety investigations within 7 days.
- Actively engage with human resources to obtain top talent for management and hourly craft positions.
- Actively develop talent, manage performance and hold individuals accountable through partnership with human resources
- Develop, implement and optimize a world class reliability program to provide maximum benefit to the business objectives of the mill.
- Mill-wide RCFA Leader.
- Evaluate new technology which applies to operating unit reliability.
- Provide technical expertise for equipment maintenance, maintenance standards, and operating procedures for mill equipment, proactively identify, troubleshoot, and eliminate equipment reliability issues.
- Re-engineer/redesign unreliable or failure prone equipment to meet expected operating performance.
- Achieve budgeted maintenance spend at budgeted equipment reliability.
- Work on weekend rotation for on-call maintenance responsibilities.
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Construction) or 7+ years of Maintenance Leadership experience.
- Strong demonstrated leadership, organized and people focused managerial skills, decisive decision making and the ability to influence through communication skills and being an example.
Required Competencies:
- Safety conscious and willing to work in an industrial environment
- Desire to work in an industrial environment and production atmosphere and climb in/around equipment
- Strong management, leadership, decision making and interpersonal and communication skills.
- Results oriented.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Must be a self-starter.
- Strong initiative and perseverance
- Possess ambulatory capabilities to walk extensively, climb ladders and stairways; and also be able to tolerate temperature extremes in carrying out responsibilities.
