Help shape the dialog for the global nanocellulose community by submitting a presentation to the 2022 TAPPI International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Nanomaterials (TAPPI Nano), 13-17 June 2022 in Helsinki, Finland. This is a valuable opportunity to share your latest technical developments and applications of renewable nanomaterials and establish yourself as a thought leader in the arena. Download the Call for Presentations.

TAPPI Nano brings together the international nanomaterials community to discuss the latest advances in production and use of cellulose nanomaterials in a variety of industries. Expand your network with some of the brightest international minds in nanotechnology and gain insights into the latest advancements in research and actual application in today’s newest products.

This year’s special topics include:

  • Materials for Sustainability - encompassing the utilization of renewable materials and nanotechnology to address the 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations in a collective effort to foster a secure and sustainable economic growth.
  • Sustainable Process of Producing CNMs - focusing on achieving true sustainability in producing CNMs, specifically, using processes with low energy input and environmentally benign and highly recyclable chemicals for economic production of CNMs.

View the Call for Presentations for the complete listing of topics. Student oral presentations and posters are also welcome. Abstracts are due 7 January 2022.

TAPPI Nano is the only international conference dedicated specifically to the production and use of renewable cellulose nanomaterials. There are global challenges with over-reliance on fossil reserves, resource insufficiency, and climate change, and there is therefore an urgent need to transform the existing materials paradigm.

This year’s Finnish location, a center for nanotechnology research, brings additional opportunities to meet, network with and learn from leading researchers, scientists and business professionals from that region. Finland has a unique focus on paper, paperboard, cellulosic pulp and fibers. Forests cover 75% of Finland’s land area, and the forest industry accounts for over 20% of export revenue.
