American Forest & Paper Association Releases December 2021 Packaging Papers Monthly Report

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its December 2021 Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly report.
Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in December increased one percent compared to December 2020. They were essentially flat (+0.0 percent) when compared to the same 12 months of 2020.
The operating rate was 84.9 percent, up 3.3 points from December 2020 and up 2.6 points year-to-date.
Mill inventories at the end of December decreased 3,000 short tons from the previous month and were up 6,000 short tons compared to December 2020.
