The Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics, March 14-18, 2022 on the campus of North Carolina State University is a great opportunity to gain a solid overview of how Pulping, Bleaching, Chemical Recovery, Recycling, Papermaking and Converting work.
Who should attend?
This introductory-level workshop is designed to help operators, technicians, sales and service staff, and those new to the industry or changing roles within the industry to better understand the basics of how the processes work, give them a wider scope of knowledge, and help them do their jobs more effectively.
Why attend?
It doesn't matter if you're technical or non-technical, this course can help you better understand the basics so you can see how the entire process works and immediately apply this new knowledge in your work to improve operations.
What will you learn?
The course format features presentations each morning and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon. You'll learn the structure and chemistry of wood and paper; pulping and papermaking operations; the importance of chemical recovery in a pulp mill; as well as converting, recycling, and waste treatment.
