Outlook Nebraska Increases Capabilities with New Equipment and Product

Outlook Nebraska, manufacturer of nearly 40 tissue and towel products, prioritizes the increase of production capacity to meet customer demand. The addition of a Bretting Manufacturing bander and log saw to Outlook’s multi-fold towel machine will more than double its production capacity. The new equipment paves the way for sales growth and customer retention.

Bretting Manufacturing worked diligently with Outlook Nebraska to produce a machine to enhance workforce capabilities. Though it is a standard machine, Outlook equipped the multi-fold with simple modifications to assist low vision operators. Large human-machine interface screens help operators adjust settings. Standard screens make it hard for operators with vision loss to see the small touch points. Added custom multi-color LED lighting coincides with alarms and alerts operators to areas requiring attention. Extra cameras improve pinpoint visibility.

As part of the AbilityOne program and National Industries for the Blind, Outlook Nebraska employs 75 percent blind labor in the manufacturing of its products.
“Outlook Nebraska is dedicated to investing in our manufacturing facility to improve quality and increase capacity to meet changing customer expectations. The investment of new equipment sustains our mission of blind employment while staying competitive in the market,” said Brad Sheets, director of operations at Outlook Nebraska.

Continuing its dedication to environmentally friendly products, Outlook Nebraska now offers a coreless toilet paper option to customers. The team modified an existing machine to produce this product. As demand increases, Outlook will consider investing in newer technologies to increase capabilities.

The coreless product is made from 100-percent recycled content and a minimum of 35 percent post-consumer fibers. Coreless tissue eliminates the cardboard tube in the center, saving space in trash cans and landfills. This product will help organizations achieve their sustainability goals and satisfies the purchasing requirements of government agency, AbilityOne.

“The coreless tissue continues our dedication to sustainability,” said Blake Lohnes, director of business development for Outlook Nebraska. “This product will be the perfect solution for customers seeking more environmentally friendly consumable paper products. Our quality process conforms to ISO 9001 requirements.”
