Hello everyone, it has been a while since I reached out to you in this format.

I have a question for you. What is the one thing you cannot live without?
I was moved to reach out due to a conference I attended October 17-19, 2021. As a matter of fact, I am planning to attend their 78th Annual Pulp & Paper Safety Association Safety and Health conference June 12-15, 2022, in Ponte Vedra, FL.
This association focuses on one of the most talked about topics in the world. It touches everyone on the planet.
That would be Safety.
Their roots can be traced back to WWII and they plan to be around a very longtime bringing people in our industry home safely every day.
PPSA’s Board of Directors consist of 15 dedicated individuals representing both producers and suppliers from our industry.
A quick outline of their conference includes 15 speakers on different topics, two new technology showcase sessions, and awards.
The awards include: Safety Leader of the Year, Awards of Safety Excellence, Innovator Award, and Safety Committee/Team Award.
This past meeting featured two individuals whose lives changed in an instant. They were true survivors of incidents that nearly cost them their lives.
Today they tell their stories with a missionary’s zeal, to make us all think more about what safety is all about.
If you are a member of PPSA you know what I am talking about. If you are not a member, I believe it is worth your while to check these folks out at ppsa.org and see for yourself.
“Remember, there are two types of people in our industry, TAPPI members and those who should be.” Larry N. Montague
Until next time.
