TAPPI’s International Bioenergy & Bioproducts Conference (IBBC), October 30 – November 2, 2022 in Providence, Rhode Island, announces Thomas Meth as its 2022 keynote speaker.

Mr. Meth is Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder of Enviva, a leading global energy company specializing in sustainable wood bioenergy. Enviva is the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels. The company has five corporate offices in four countries, including Bethesda, Md.; Raleigh, N.C.; York, UK; Tokyo, Japan; and Berlin, Germany.

As part of his role at Enviva, Mr. Meth has been instrumental in the company’s growth, developing solutions to complex issues in Enviva’s supply chain while working with customers to lower their dependence on coal and other fossil fuels. As Enviva enters new markets across the globe, Mr. Meth will lead the effort to explore additional applications for sustainable wood biomass, particularly in hard-to-abate industrial sectors. He will also guide Enviva’s pledge to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in its operations by 2030 and enable other industries to do the same. To date, Enviva has an annual production capacity of 6.2 million metric tons of sustainable wood pellets a year and currently employs more than 1,000 people across the globe.
