Paper Excellence Starts Up Hogenkamp Dilution Headbox

Paper Excellence Group’s 1,000 TPD Skookumchuck, B.C., Canada mill has started up a Hogenkamp Slot Diffuser Dilution Headbox. The rebuild included new approach piping with gasketless metal-to-metal flanges, a radial distributor and 2.50” cross-machine profile dilution zones. The headbox employs an energy efficient turbulence generator --- the Slot Diffuser --- rather than traditional step diffusers to reduce fan pump energy consumption by approximately 20%.
