The Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics is once again being offered on the campus of North Carolina State University (NCSU), October 10-14, 2022. Gain a solid overview of how Pulping, Bleaching, Chemical Recovery, Recycling, Papermaking and Converting work. You’ll run a pilot paper machine and gain experience through close interaction with pulp and paper professors in small groups.
Co-sponsored by TAPPI and NCSU, this intro-level workshop is designed to help operators, technicians, technical personnel, sales and service staff better understand the basics of how the processes work, give them a wider scope of knowledge, and help them do their jobs more effectively.
It doesn't matter if you're technical or non-technical, this course can help you better understand the basics so you can understand how the entire process works and immediately apply this new knowledge in your work.
The course will consist of presentations each morning and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon. You'll learn the structure and chemistry of wood, chemical pulping and bleaching operations and processes, papermaking, paper grades and properties, paper recycling, and the importance of chemical recovery, waste treatment and environmental processes.
This popular course is limited to 42 participants and is likely to sell out soon. Register by August 29, 2022 for the best rates! Learn more about the Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics.
