Job Summary: Greif’s Corrugated sheet facility, located in Concord, NC, is looking for a seasoned Production Superintendent with strong knowledge and experience in leading a corrugated box converting department. This leader will lead efforts as the company introduces a brand-new Jumbo Flexo machine scheduled to be installed into the corrugated sheet facility in Fall of 2022.
- Production Superintendent – Converting Department – Concord, NC
- Shift - 2nd (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

Primary responsibilities:
- Supervises the day-to-day activities at the Jumbo Flexo machine center, monitoring colleague productivity.
- Continuously improves the converting department’s performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
- Run department meetings, confirm production progress, and responds to delays and downtime issues.
- Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities relating to the team and the company.
- Encourages joint problem solving, personal safety, and individual development.
- Implements and enforces compliance with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Manages and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features work while promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
- Monitors work schedules to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
- Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities relating to the team and Greif.
- Maintain close connection and contact with other departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong corrugated converting operational knowledge and experience required
- In-depth understanding and working knowledge in corrugated converting operations and processes.
- 7+ years of supervisory and leadership skills.
- Jumbo Flexo experience and knowledge are strongly preferred but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software a plus.
Education: Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 7+ years in a leadership role in corrugated converting, specifically in Die Cutting, Folding, and Gluing corrugated box operations.
