Runtech Systems delivers a RunEco vacuum system rebuild to Model Sachsen Papier GmbH in Eilenburg, Germany. Delivery comprises of four EP650 Turbo Blowers with EcoDrop water separators. In addition, the existing Nash liquid ring pumps will be serviced and upgraded to ensure the optimal operation and capacity of the pumps.
This vacuum system renewal is a part of a bigger rebuild project, where the newsprint machine will be converted to produce linerboard and fluting with an annual capacity of 600 000 metric tons for supply to the Model corrugating plants and the open market. The rebuild will be completed at the beginning of 2024. Eilenburg PM1 already has two EP Turbo Blowers operating. The additional units will replace part of the existing liquid ring pumps as well as enable the capacity increase while providing the needed vacuum in an energy efficient, water free way.
“This project nicely represents Runtech’s unique offering capability for vacuum systems upgrades and rebuilds. This hybrid system solution consists of a combination of Runtech Turbo Blowers and Nash liquid ring pumps, which gives the highest flexibility and reliability with a perfect set for further on-demand vacuum level optimization focused on minimized energy consumption. I am very happy to see that Eilenburg has operated two Turbo Blowers for many years and that they confirm their product satisfaction by ordering new turbo blowers from Runtech,” says Jelle Schuivens, Sales Manager, Runtech Systems.
EP Turbo Blowers are always variable speed and capacity, which allows the vacuum system to be optimized quickly without bleed air and with minimal throttling and expansion losses. With integrated high-speed motor controlled by a frequency converter, rotation speed and vacuum level can be adjusted according to the process requirements. EcoDrop water separators remove water, fiber and fines ensuring reliable and efficient vacuum generation.
