Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead and participate in projects for Cellulose Specialties customers.
- Collaborate closely with research, sales and manufacturing personnel, as well as customers, to ensure that technical solutions and recommendations achieve full commercial impact.
- Plan, organize, and direct mill trials.
- Work with highly sensitive trade secret and business confidential technical information.
- Teach, mentor, and develop other Scientists and Associates. Contribute to the overall technical growth and scientific integrity of the organization.
- Manage assigned lab facilities and equipment to be as effective and efficient as possible while maintaining scientific integrity at all times. Operate and maintain analytical instruments utilized in the Cellulose Specialties projects. Develop analytical methods tailored to project requirements.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Education:
- Advanced Science degree required. Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with advanced analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC/MS and GPC or leading process/product development project teams.
- Proven invention record preferred – patents filed or granted.
- Excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to independently lead project teams and organize team activities.
- Verbal and written fluency in English required.
