NALCO, an Ecolab Company, has generously donated a state-of-the-art creping device to the Sustainable and Alternative Fibers Initiative (SAFI) at NC State University. This pivotal contribution, valued at approximately $700,000, will significantly enhance research activities and underscore NALCO’s dedication to sustainability and academic research.

The donated creping device, a lab-scale, advanced equipment, empowers researchers to crepe a variety of substrates into hygiene tissue products. These products are commonly used in daily applications such as bath tissue and kitchen towels. This technology represents a significant step forward enhancing the capacity for high-quality research and development at SAFI.

“We are immensely grateful for NALCO’s generous donation. Their commitment to the advancement of sustainable solutions is reflected in this gesture,” says Jennifer Piercy, Associated Dean for Advancement. “The creping device will undoubtedly enrich our research capabilities and aid in our mission to innovate sustainable and alternative fibers.”

NALCO’s contribution will primarily support research activities currently in development within the SAFI initiative. This partnership will foster innovation and provide new insights into sustainable fibers, ultimately benefiting the global community.
