Starwood Orman Urunleri Sanayi A.S. has successfully produced first fibers for MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) production with its new fiber preparation system from ANDRITZ at the mill in Inegöl, Türkiye. This is already the third system ANDRITZ has delivered to Starwood.

Hüseyin Yildiz, Vice President at Starwood, said: “ANDRITZ is our partner of choice. The performance of the previous two lines is excellent, so no surprise that we decided again to go with ANDRITZ. Our new system has already produced first fibers with superior quality and has shown very promising performance.”

The scope of supply comprised the complete line, from chip washing to pressurized refining, to process a mixture of pine and beech wood chips. The centerpiece of the new system is a high-performance single-disc refiner, type S 2064M, that ensures highest fiber quality at low specific energy consumption.

Starwood is one of the largest industrial companies in Türkiye and produces around 2,000 m3 of MDF and 3,000 m3 of chipboard per day. Among other business segments, the company specializes in the production of thin MDF, ranging from 1.5 to 8 mm. Starwood plays a major role as a furniture supplier in Türkiye and other countries in the Middle East.
