TAPPI’s Papermaking Technology Operations Committee (PTOC) is organizing a new informational webinar that will describe how minor variations in papermaking processes such as starch, vacuum, life of clothing, stock quality/refining and variability in OCC have important effects on dewatering in the forming and press sections, which in turn determines the sheet moisture entering the dryer section. The Using Industry 4.0 Tools to Maintain Maximum Sheet Consistency Out of the Press Section webinar takes place Friday, October 27 from 12 PM – 1 PM (ET).
Participants will hear from two professional leaders Lawrence Yane, Director of Diagnostic Systems and MRO Products, Cristini North America and Luca Canali, Development Leader of Diagnostic Systems, S.a Giuseppe Cristini. Attendees will understand the type and use of instrumentation required to set up Industry 4.0 controls on a paper machine to maintain maximum solids entering the dryer section.

Meet the Presenters: Lawrence Yane and Luca Canali

Lawrence Yane is the Director of Diagnostic Systems and MRO Products for Cristini North America. He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He has spent his entire professional career in Technical Sales, Project Management and Product Development. Lawrence works closely with clients to develop solutions at the Wet End for improved efficiency, product quality and runnability, as well as reducing specific energy and electrical consumption which are key factors for maximum production and profitability.

Luca Canali is the Development Leader of Diagnostic Systems at S.a Giuseppe Cristini. Luca deals with the development, application and integration of measurement systems on paper machines. He is responsible for analyzing process data in order to integrate measurement systems within energy saving projects.
