A global packaging and paper manufacturer has commissioned Voith to rebuild its production line into a state-of-the-art production facility for recycled packaging papers. Commissioning of the rebuilt production line is scheduled for 2025.
Leading full-line supplier Voith will deliver a customized solution that includes a resource-saving BlueLine stock preparation system, the rebuild of the existing machine into an efficient XcelLine paper machine, as well as comprehensive service agreements and a fabrics package. The project also involves the technologically complex rebuild of the existing winder for processing packaging papers.
“We are extremely proud to have received this significant rebuild order,” says Martin Jauch, Senior Vice President Global Rebuilds at Voith. “This order not only confirms our leading position in the industry, but also underlines our customers' appreciation for our technological solutions. The customer will benefit from few interfaces and our full-line approach. We will continue to use our innovative power to exceed our customers' expectations and move the industry forward.”
The customized package covers the entire process from stock preparation to winder. The Voith solution meets the specific requirements and optimizes the use of resources through highly efficient production. Thus, the BlueLine stock preparation line will enable consistent and high stock quality with optimized fiber yield and low energy consumption. The heart of the system is an IntensaPulper with TwinPulp detrashing system for efficient and fast pulping. Another highlight is Voith's InfiltraDiscfilter with patented, bagless FloWing technology for optimum dewatering. In addition, an extensive reject sludge-water system from Voith's subsidiary Meri will be installed.
The paper machine will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, including a MasterJet Pro headbox, a proven DuoFormer CB shoe-blade former, a DuoCentri NipcoFlex press, a SpeedSizer AT for uniform film application, and a MasterReel for high-performance reeling. The technologically complex conversion of the existing winder to a VariFlex Performance will significantly increase the efficiency and productivity of the entire line.
In addition to a comprehensive service and fabrics package, Voith will supply and install the OnControl automation technology (DCS & MCS) for control and visualization of the production processes. Furthermore, the OnQuality Quality Control System (QCS) including ModuleJet, ModuleSteam and ModulePro actuators and scanners for basis weight and moisture as well as the OnView information system will be installed. These will stabilize and optimize product quality and the production process.
