The Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics, taking place March 11-15, 2024, on the campus of North Carolina State University, is designed to help you better understand the basic concepts in pulp and paper manufacturing. You will learn how the entire pulping and papermaking process works and immediately apply this new knowledge in your work. What will you learn?
You will gain a solid overview of pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting concepts. The course format features morning presentations and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon. You will learn about the structure and chemistry of wood, chemical and mechanical pulping operations and processes, the importance of chemical recovery in pulp mills as well as waste treatment and environmental regulation.
