In Memoriam: TAPPI Member and Corrugated Division Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, James Carbone

We are saddened to announce the passing of James Carbone, who was an accomplished TAPPI Member from 1982 – 2023 and a winner of the Corrugated Division Lifetime Achievement Award. A very active member and volunteer, Carbone served on the Corrugated Board Technical Committee (Corbotec) and held various officer roles. He also served on other multiple committees within the Corrugated Division.
Carbone also served as editor of the Corrugating Defect/Remedy Manual, Sixth Edition. Since becoming a TAPPI Member, he has presented at numerous international corrugated container industry meetings sponsored by TAPPI, ACCCSA and the Canadian Box Association.
His career started in 1954 with Flint – Kote Mills. Over the next 60+ years, James was employed by Container Corporation of America, Westvaco, Ogilvie Mills and Harper Love.
His contributions to TAPPI and the industry will be celebrated for years to come. TAPPI sends condolences to his family and friends.
