CDP Recognises Metsä Board with a 'A' Score for Transparency on Climate Change and Water Security

Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, has been recognised for leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change and water security by global environmental non-profit CDP, securing a place on its annual ‘A List’. Based on data reported through CDP’s 2023 Climate Change and Water Security questionnaires, Metsä Board is one of a small number of companies that achieved a double ‘A’ – out of 23,000 companies scored. In the Forest questionnaire Metsä Board scored an A-.
“We have ambitious sustainability targets including 100% fossil free production and raw materials, and reduced process water use by the end of 2030. In our wood supply, we promote regenerative forestry practices. The high score in CDP assessments year after year is great recognition of our systematic work," says Mika Joukio, CEO of Metsä Board.
This is the eighth year that Metsä Board achieved the position on the CDP Climate A list and the CDP Water A list. The measures the company is taking towards its 2030 targets on climate change and water use are publicly available in a detailed and interactive roadmap on the company’s website.
CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognised as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.
