If so, the Hands-On Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics, taking place June 3-7, 2024, on the campus of North Carolina State University, is designed to help you. Through interactive sessions, you'll enhance your understanding of the pulping and papermaking process and promptly put your newfound insights into practice. If you seek a comprehensive grasp of paper industry operations, from woodyard to finished product, this workshop is for you!

What Will You Learn?
You will gain a solid overview of pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking and converting concepts. The workshop format will feature morning presentations and hands-on laboratory and pilot-plant exercises every afternoon. You will learn about the structure and chemistry of wood, chemical and mechanical pulping operations and processes, the importance of chemical recovery in pulp mills, waste treatment and environmental regulation.
Can’t Attend in June?
No worries. This workshop will be offered one last time in 2024 on October 7-11. There are only 42 seats available per offering and each workshop historically sells out.
Earn Credit
TAPPI will award 3.4 continuing education units (CEUs) to participants who attend at least 80% of the education sessions and complete a final program evaluation.
