The German company Bellmer has signed an agreement to acquire Metal Service, a specialist in stock preparation solutions and paper machines based in Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina. The acquisition will strengthen Bellmer's supply of technology and service presence in Brazil. The acquisition of Metal Service is strongly linked to Bellmer's strategy of providing cutting-edge technologies, services and automation to the pulp and paper industries.

“The pulp and paper business is growing in Brazil, both with new investments and upgrades to existing plants. By combining Metal Service's service and production capabilities with those of Bellmer, we can strengthen our position as a complete supplier for paper mills”, says Martin Kollmar, President of Bellmer.

With this acquisition, Bellmer will be closer to customers in Brazil, strengthening its local presence in the business of new projects, machine rebuilds, spare parts, field services, and increasing our competitiveness in the market. Additionally, Bellmer is excited to advance the separation division in Brazil, benefiting from closer proximity to the customers. The transaction is expected to be completed and closed by the end of the year.

Metal Service – Over 20 years of experience in the Brazilian Paper Industry
The Metal Service team will be a welcome addition to the Bellmer team. Over the past two decades, Metal Service has built up a strong product portfolio and established itself as a reliable supplier of stock preparation technology, paper machinery and services in Brazil and Latin America.

“Now the time has come to take the next step in the development of this business and I see Bellmer as a great way to continue growing,” commented Valmor Burato, founder of Metal Service. Burato will continue as managing director of Bellmer do Brasil, ensuring a smooth transition for employees, suppliers and customers. Under his leadership, the company will maintain its robust sales and service operations, engineering resources, project management and production facilities.

The production of high-tech components, such as Headboxes, Shoe Presses, Shakers, Calenders, FilmSizers and Winders, will continue to be manufactured by Bellmer's modern facilities in Germany and Finland.
