The Group's overall score of 85 out of 100 places Lecta among the top 1% of companies rated highest in ESG performance by EcoVadis.
Lecta is proud to announce that it has been recognized by EcoVadis with the Platinum Medal in its second year assessed and rated at Group level. This shows Lecta's firm commitment to sustainability and its significant progress and achievements made aligned with its ambitious ESG strategy.
EcoVadis is the world's most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, and its scores are based on a rigorous methodology that evaluates companies' sustainability performance in four areas: Environment, Ethics, Labor and Human Rights, and Sustainable Procurement. With a score of 85/100 Lecta is placed among the top 1% of over more than 130,000 companies currently assessed by EcoVadis and among the 10 best companies out of the more than 300 rated in the Pulp, Paper and Paperboard industry.
"After having missed the Gold level by a few points in 2023 and following EcoVadis guidance for our improvement, we have been working very hard to fill the gap this year in all ESG areas. Being recognized at the Platinum level is really a great success achieved thanks to all committed stakeholders directly involved but also to each of our employees who are contributing daily in every activity we are doing at Lecta", said Vincent George, Chief Transformation & Sustainability Officer at Lecta.
This high recognition from EcoVadis also underlines the value of Lecta's solid and consolidated Integrated Management System, which is the foundation of our organization, and which is strictly applied in all activities and at all Lecta sites, according to Lecta. The principles of this Lecta policy promote the production and distribution of paper with a commitment to quality and service to meet customer expectations considering criteria of profitability, social responsibility, environmental protection, energy efficiency and occupational health and safety.
