Navigator Company has started up a new industrial plant producing moulded fibre for packaging. The company aims to become world pioneer in the production of moulded eucalyptus pulp packaging.

The factory is located in Aveiro on the West coast of Portugal. The plan will produce more than 100 million units a year, making it the largest in Europe, according to Navigator Company. The company reports that three new packaging lines had been installed.

Production starts with three product lines for the food sector, namely tableware (bowls, cups, etc.), take-away, and food packaging.

Navigator Company sees a very high growth potential in this market “fully aligned with the challenges of reducing the use of single-use plastics.”
