Voith successfully installed three CleanLine Extract4D cleaning systems for fabrics in the dryer section of a Canadian manufacturer for lightweight packaging and bogus paper. The implementation of the precise technology represents a major step forward in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the customer’s production processes.

"We are thrilled to see the successful startup of the CleanLine Extract4D," says Austen Busse, Director of Project and Order Management at Voith Paper. "This project is a testament to our team's dedication and expertise, and it underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. The collaborative efforts ensured that the project was completed on time and met all performance targets.”

With water jets in four directions, the CleanLine Extract4D technology ensures a very high level of cleanliness in the drying section, as it eliminates contamination on the fabric surface, at the crossover points between the yarns, and within the voids of the structure. It operates with minimal water consumption, contributing to more sustainable production practices. An integrated air knife and vacuum zone ensures the residual cleaning water and contaminants will be directed outside the dryer fabric. By maintaining a cleaner dryer section, the technology helps to maintain fabric permeability to prevent sheet breaks and allows for higher machine speeds, leading to improved runability and productivity.

Voith's CleanLine portfolio covers cleaning solutions for the forming, press, dryer and coater sections of the paper machine. The solutions are continuously being developed, with innovations aimed at the best cleaning performance while ensuring smooth maintenance and machine availability.
