This fiber-based solution replaces traditional metal wires, addressing longstanding safety concerns and simplifying handling processes for pulp manufacturers and users.

Jessica Sjöberg, Product Specialist for SCA Pure, emphasizes the company's commitment to workplace safety: "SCA's vision is that no one should get hurt at work and that everyone should come home unharmed in good health. We want to extend that vision to our customers."

The Pure Smart Strap is a direct response to customer demand, as Agnes Åkerlund, Sales Manager for Nordic Countries & UK, explains: "This solution has been on several of our customers' wish lists, which we can now offer in our home market."

Key benefits of the SCA Pure Smart Strap include:
1. Improved safety: Eliminates risks associated with removing metal wires
2. Simplified handling: Paper-strapped bales can be fed directly into pulping processes without de-threading
3. Sustainability: The straps, made of fibers and glue, dissolve with the pulp, reducing waste
4. Cost reduction: Removes the need for metal wire removal and disposal

"No more metal that needs to be removed. And no more risk of harm to people or production equipment. Just drop the entire bales - sheets and straps together - into the pulper," Sjöberg adds.

This innovation aligns with the industry's growing focus on safety and sustainability, offering a solution that not only protects workers but also streamlines operations and reduces environmental impact. As the pulp and paper industry continues to evolve, innovations like SCA's Pure Smart Strap demonstrate the potential for simple yet effective solutions to address multiple challenges simultaneously.
