Startup company Releaf Paper, originally from Ukraine, has discovered a new way to produce pulp and paper – from fallen leaves. “It’s so obvious that paper can be made from leaves, as the leaf is part of the tree, the main material for papermaking”, Releaf Paper states.

Releaf Paper was founded in 2021 by Ukrainian Valentyn Frechka, and moved to France in 2022 following the invasion of the country by Russia.

The company has recently started production in a new production plant near Paris, after securing funding from EU.

The startup company has developed its own patented technology of processing fallen leaves info fibers. Using combination of mechanical, thermal and chemical treatment, the company not only disposes green wastes, but also ensures source of sustainable raw-materials for paper & packaging industries.
