International Paper will be building a $260m plant in Waterloo, Iowa, near the city’s airport. The project is expected to create 90 jobs, according to media reports.

The new plant will produce corrugated packaging, including cardboard boxes and other materials made from corrugated fiberboard.

The 900,000-square-foot facility will replace the company’s current plant at 800 W. Parker Street, which employs 199 team members. The new facility will be five times larger than the existing plant.

International Paper is one of the world’s leading producers of renewable fiber-based packaging, pulp, and paper products. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, the company operates globally, serving customers in over 150 countries.
