TAPPI and the Paper Science & Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) are working in partnership to deliver these essential, hands-on short courses coming up in the next few weeks.
Hands-On Papermaking Course
March 20-21
- Introductory basics ideal for anyone new or transferred from another industry
- Topics include pulp and papermaking operations, processes and equipment
- Classroom sessions with expert instructors and guided exercises working the UW-Stevens Point Fourdrinier pilot paper machine.

Advanced Papermaking: Additives
April 10-11
- Insightful overview of predominant paper making process additives and potential interactions
- Discussions on acid and alkaline papermaking, filler and dyes, wet and dry strength, and enhanced paper performance
- Features exercises on the UW-Stevens Point pilot paper machine where attendees produce paper using different additives
