Italian company Burgo has announced a price increase for fine paper, according to Euwid. According to the company, prices for woodfree coated and uncoated paper in sheets and reels will rise by up to 7 per cent. The hike is to be effective from 1 April.

The company stresses the need of such a step, addressing the current cost pressure. There is "continuous pressure coming from pulp, energy and logistics costs", Burgo stated.

The Burgo Group is an industrial holding company of a group operating in the production and distribution of paper for the graphics sector, speciality papers (for example for food use) and containerboard, as well as in the production and sale of fibrous raw materials (chemical pulp, mechanical pulp, deinked pulp) and energy.
