Graphic Packaging International has partnered with JJM Packaging to bring its Boardio™ paperboard canister to a wider North American market.
The agreement will allow JJM Packaging to utilize Boardio for a range of food products, including nutrition powders, sweeteners, dry beverage mixes, oats, and grains.
Boardio, a recyclable alternative to rigid plastic containers and flexible pouches, offers up to 90% plastic reduction and is made from renewable materials from sustainably managed forests. This sustainable packaging solution aims to meet the growing demand for circular packaging among brands and retailers.
"This is an exciting new opportunity built on close cooperation and a shared passion for innovation," said Johan Werme, head of sales for paperboard canister solutions at Graphic Packaging. "Consumers love Boardio, and we look forward to working with JJM Packaging to introduce Boardio to millions more consumers across the U.S. and Canada."
JJM Packaging, known for its innovation and flexibility, aligns with Graphic Packaging's core values. "Our customers want more sustainable, operationally efficient packaging innovations, and we’re delighted to be able to deliver that with Boardio," said Joe Apuzzo, co-founder and president of JJM Packaging.
The Boardio paperboard canisters will be available to JJM Packaging customers starting in Q2 2025, expanding the reach of this sustainable packaging solution across North America.
