APP Eyeing Nordic Region

Asia Pulp and Paper (APP), Indonesia, is reportedly interested in acquiring operations in the Nordic region, and is said to be looking at mill possibilities in Finland, particularly. The company earlier operated a sales office in Finland. APP, part of the Sinar Mas Group, today operates eight mills in Indonesia with 7 million metric tpy of capacity, most of it built through acquisitions. Its production portfolio includes printing and writing papers, market pulp, tissue and toweling, and packaging boards marketed in some 65 countries.
