For the thirteenth straight month, U.S. containerboard production rose over the same month a year ago, according to the November 2010 U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report released this week by the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), Washington, D.C., USA. Total production saw an increase of 33,800 tons or 1.2% compared with November 2009.
Production fell compared with October 2010; however, the month-over-month average daily production was flat, down just 0.9%. Year-to-date 2010 production has increased 7.8% over 2009. The containerboard operating rate for November 2010 was up 5.4 points over November 2009 to 94.9%. Additional key findings from the report include:
